About Cheernook

Cheernook is a small place to post a goal — a race, a kitchen remodel, a certificate — and let the people who already know you send a small cheer while you do the work. Not a campaign for strangers. Not a crisis. Just the everyday things people take on, made a little easier by knowing your circle is watching.
Why we built it this way
Most fundraising platforms are built for the biggest, most urgent asks — and they should be. But most of what people are actually working toward is smaller and quieter: training for a first 5K, saving for new tools, finishing a class. Those goals rarely get a spotlight, and asking for encouragement can feel awkward when the only tools around are built for emergencies.
Cheernook is built for that everyday middle ground — goals shared with people who already care, not an audience of strangers.
A cheer, not a donation
A cheer is a small gift and a note, sent by someone who knows you, to a goal you posted yourself. It’s closer to a card in the mail than a charitable donation — there’s no tax receipt, no urgency, no ask on behalf of someone else. Just a way to say “I see you doing this” with a few dollars behind it.
Keep it as private as you want
Every goal is link-only by default — visible only to people you send it to. Sharing it on Discover is always a choice you make, never the default.
Curious how the pieces actually fit together?
