Fees & Payments

When someone chooses to send a monetary cheer to support another person’s goal, Cheernook keeps a 1% platform fee from that cheer. For example:

• $10.00 cheer → Cheernook platform fee: $0.10
• $25.00 cheer → Cheernook platform fee: $0.25
• $50.00 cheer → Cheernook platform fee: $0.50
• $100.00 cheer → Cheernook platform fee: $1.00

The remaining funds are directed to the goal owner, subject to any applicable payment-processing fees.

Payment transactions may also be subject to fees charged by Cheernook’s third-party payment processor, Stripe. These payment-processing fees are separate from Cheernook’s 1% platform fee and may vary depending on the payment method, transaction type, currency, location, or payment processor requirements. Cheernook does not represent third-party payment-processing fees as part of its own platform fee.

You don’t need to send money to support someone on Cheernook. A cheer may consist of encouragement, reactions, messages, comments, or other forms of support made available through the platform. There is no Cheernook platform fee for a non-monetary cheer.

Cheernook does not charge a fee to create or publish a goal unless a separate paid feature is specifically identified before purchase. You may create goals and share them with friends, family, and your community without paying Cheernook’s 1% platform fee — that fee applies only when a monetary cheer is successfully processed.

If a monetary cheer is refunded, any refund of Cheernook’s platform fee will be handled in accordance with the circumstances of the transaction, applicable law, and the policies of the payment processor. Payment-processing fees charged by third-party providers may not always be refundable.

Where payouts are supported, funds from monetary cheers are made available to eligible goal owners through Cheernook’s payment-processing provider. Payout timing, account verification, banking requirements, transaction holds, and other payment requirements may be determined in part by the payment processor. If payouts are not yet available for a particular account, region, or feature, Cheernook will clearly disclose that limitation before representing funds as available for withdrawal.

Goal owners are responsible for determining whether funds received through Cheernook have any applicable tax consequences. Cheernook does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice.

Cheernook is committed to straightforward pricing. Our standard platform fee for monetary cheers is 1%. There are no hidden Cheernook platform fees added to a monetary cheer beyond fees clearly disclosed to you before the transaction is completed. Third-party payment-processing fees may apply separately.

If Cheernook changes its platform fee in the future, the updated fee will be clearly disclosed through the platform and this policy will be updated accordingly. Changes will not retroactively alter the platform fee charged on previously completed transactions.
